Tcom and Bulsatcom no longer offer SIM cards. First operator is defunct, Bulsatcom is bought by Vivacom. Maybe you should check and update the page?
Rogers has recently stopped selling Prepaid to new customers, and are going to sell prepaid exclusively through their MVNO Chatr
I was wondering if anyone could add this info to the Canada page.
I've recently created a page for South Sudan. Unfortunately it's a bit incomplete as I was not able to get a "Zain" SIM card. I nevertheless hope that adding info about 1 carrier (which is the main one and used by most people anyways) is helpful.
I'm not 100% sure how to use this Wiki but would it be possible to add this page to the Africa group? And maybe add the "Warzone" tag?
Cheers !
P.S.: I will be traveling extensively in other African countries this year and plan to update some of the other pages along the way :)
Hi admin
I found an option how user can top up Estonia SIM card from abroad
Download ZEN application from App Store/Google Play
Register and verify your account(passport and selfie)
You will get ZEN virtual card and IBAN
Top up your ZEN account
Make bank transfer inside EU - 0.05 EUR fee will be applied. Bank details should be present on carrier website(Elisa in my case)
The SIM card will be topped up next day
I topped up my Elisa SIM using ZEN account without any issues
Please share it in the article about Estonia sim
Thanks
Stanislav
Hiya, I tried editing the United Kingdom prepay section to include RWG Mobile (which is using a rebadged NOW Mobile SIM) they seem to be a provider growing in popularity so I wanted to add them but I'm not experienced enough in table editing and graphics for it too look right in the Wiki, so I'd thought I'd ask someone to check them out.
They don't sell vouchers but they offer a virtually prepay service not too different to Lyca and Lebara mobile so I'd thoughy they'd be a great addition.
What do you think?
Hi,
I wonder why there's no info about esim per country?
There are a lot of phones with esim capability and quite a few providers in many countries who offer esim along with sim card (physical) for their prepaid plans.
Thanks,
AK
Hi everyone, I just wanted to add an edit about the new product that allows staying connected in more than 130 countries. They have an operation hub and they switch the sim cards for you. You don't need/have to deal with changing sim cards etc.
The product has 3 plans: Starter, Plus, and Premium. The starter package is like "pay as you go." Travelers need to pay £5 per day used.
In the plus package, 15 days are included. Data is unlimited (mostly in Europe). Exceeding days are £4.5 per day used. The package price is £59.
The premium package has no other fees & roaming charges. Unlimited. £99.
It has also an eSim package.
Why I'm writing this? Because I used the device in Italy, Spain and France and it worked very well.
Here is the website:
Maybe it can be a solution for constantly changing sim cards.
Hi from your admin. I've not done many edits recently. I'm sorry for that, but I don't have so much time for them. I hope this will change soon.
But I keep an eye on new edits of users and will interfere as soon as I find something very wrong, biased or distorting.
Sweden has introduced real name registration on 1 August 2022. Not a big deal as most European and EU countries do this nowadays in some form or the other. Unfortunately, an user has taken this opportunity to show his agenda blaming the "Socialist government" (even all parties voted for the law except of the Leftists) and claiming a "foreigner" is not allowed to buy and register a SIM card in Sweden anymore. This is grossly false and really distorting the facts. It's getting harder for sure, but is not banned nor impossible to do.
Please don't add new regulations (even if you disapprove of them) in an orderly manner by stating the facts, not myths and try to figure out what a foreigner needs to do to comply with the rules.
To show the two different versions, I've kept them in the article that readers can make up their mind. If the anonymous user is still trying to sell his version of things, I will need to block him. Thanks.
The military conflict in Ukraine has reached this wiki. I'm really greatful that nobody tried to change the articles of Ukraine, Russia or Crimea for his own purpose.
Now a user with Polish IP has added Ukraine to our list of countries in warzones. I mean there is no doubt about it, that there is a war (in Russian: military special operation) going on in the country.
But the category "warzone" was meant for countries that are so unstable that no reliable information can be given about their providers (technically, economically or if they work at all). The situation in Ukraine is different. Here all three providers are still working and give mobile access (currently in one roaming network) in most parts of the country in their usual portfolio.
You can still buy a local SIM card. This is quite important, as international roaming has been shut off partially. Though Ukraine is a warzone, no doubt about it, it doesn't fit into this category in our wiki.
Either we change the definition of a warzone in this wiki or we need to take Ukraine off this list. There is a lot of information available about the providers. Whether they work in a particular place, is a different story.
I have now added a new manual site for eSIM. It consists of some basics about eSIM: devices, installation, pros and cons eSIM vs. traditional SIM card.
I've tried to present it in a balanced way. There are split opinions about eSIM. The second part is about how travellers can benefit from eSIM and where are still problems involved. This is not to say it's good or bad, just to make aware of the restrictions.
I hope you like this manual. We have now addressed eSIM in three ways in this wiki: (1) this new manual with basic information (2) eSIM with data for international offers on a special "all nations" article and (3) local eSIM options mentioned in every country article.
There is a new site about European Roaming Unions. It's an updated version of the European Union (EU/EEA) roaming article. It was shortened and added by Western Balkans roaming. This article breaks away from the usual recommendation of this wiki to buy local SIM cards. That's why both unions are featured in detail about geographical scope, rules and the shortcomings of the regulation for data users. I hope you will like it.
There is no doubt that eSIM will grow, but it took a while so far. eSIM may give international data SIM providers a new boost, and some local operators will double their offer on eSIM too.
Up to now, there have been too few compatible devices and too few offers of data providers. I think that we should make this wiki eSIM-compatible in 2022. This means in my point of view:
adding another manual page about eSIM: concept, norm, market, devices, pros, cons, restrictions, chances, repercussions to roaming, this wiki ....
adding this new article about international (roaming) eSIM profiles with data as a spin-off from international data SIM cards under "all nations". That's where the major players of roaming eSIM profiles are presented (apart from physical SIM card offers) with a link to databases.
eventually updating each country article for eSIM when a local prepaid SIM offer by a local operator is doubled and given out as eSIM too. So far there are very few PREPAID offers on local markets available.
This is how I think we should address eSIM here. Any suggestions?
I have rewritten and updated this section.
It now has a portal page for introduction and links to three different platforms:
1.) traditional (=physical SIM cards)
2.) data on eSIM for compatible devices
3.) WiFi hotspots bundled with data plan
The portal page and 1.) 2.) have been totally updated. I think we need to add more eSIM support. I will replace the Blackberry manual soon with one about eSIM.
ESIM and 5G will be priorities when updating the national articles.
Hi. I blocked user 76.64.60.175
He was not even registered and added to more than 30 countries a segment similar to this:
Alternatively, you can recharge your prepaid number via global online portals such as [https://swiftrecharge.com/ swiftrecharge.com] which allows to buy recharges from anywhere in the world using foreign bank cards along with crypto currencies like bitcoin, ethereum or usdt.
I consider it as hidden advertisement similar to spam. It's true that there are global top-up agencies now able to top-up most providers of the world and we may mention this way too. But his addition only mentions and links one and it's always the same company. Swiftrecharge is a brand of SwiftReload Inc. Ontario, Canada. This IP address is based in Canada too.
I suggest to change or delete his additions. From my point of view, we can mention the possibility and may be a choice of top-up agencies (but not only one) and should also add a reference to higher costs or fees compared with local top-ups.
My parents recently went on vacation during the Holy Ramadan period. Vodafone near the Hilton Garden Inn sinned in a very indecent way. My parents came to ask for help, as my mom’s phone had experienced humidity in the charging area (some water spilled around it) and the phone wouldn’t charge. Vodafone service people took the phone for a day to fix the problem and returned it the next day saying that there was nothing they could do. I suppose that the phone was dry by that time. When my parents got back from vacation, they went to a Russian cellphone service place, where they told them right away that the screen had been changed to a dysfunctional one. Basically, the Egyptians put a broken touch screen and kept the screen from my mother’s new phone. It is very sad to find out that those people who make a fuss about believing in Allah could deceive people this way. I’m going to make sure that this story is known by a lot of people.
I have a Gamma SIM card in my tablet. I use it to have security codes texted to me. It is a UK card, but works great for receiving the codes from Canada and the Netherlands and the USA, while I am in Guatemala.
Now I want to use it to Roam in the USA.
Anyone with experience with a Gamma SIM?
Hiya, I've made some minor edits because Asda Mobile have recently signed a new deal with the Vodafone network to use their systems again, this also affects Virgin Mobile who are also moving.
Is there any chance one of the admin team can look at it? I know traffic is slow but it will pick up and people will go elsewhere if the information is out of date, good luck and keep running this forum!
I have been editing this wiki since 24/06/2012. Almost two years later on 14/03/2014 a new user Wolfbln started editing the same wiki and subsequently adopted the wiki as an admin on 25/06/2015. Wolfbln is now the only admin and bureaucrat, but has been mostly inactive since 08/08/2020, having previously edited the wiki almost every day. He has been 100% inactive since 01/02/2021, more than 60 days ago. I am the longest-running active contributor to this wiki and the second-highest contributor to this wiki of all time with 853 edits. In the absence of an active admin, does anyone support or oppose my promotion to an admin?
